Albion Water is delighted to announce that it has achieved ISO 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Certification.
The ISO 18001:2007 standard sets out the criteria for an Occupational Health and Safety System and is recognised worldwide. The standard focuses on a number of key areas including: Safety Communication and Consultation, Safety Documentation, Responsibilities, Safety Information, First Aid, Accident Reporting, Risk Assessments, Provision and Use of Work Equipment, Electricity at Work, COSHH, DSE and Off Site Working. The certification recognises that the policies, procedures and systems implemented by Albion Water comply with the ISO 18001 standard.
This management system, alongside the accreditation that Albion already has under ISO 9001 (quality management systems) and ISO 14001 (environmental management system), will be internally audited, reviewed and improved as part of an ongoing process, which will be assessed by our certification body on an annual basis.
Dr Jerry Bryan, Albion’s chief executive said:
I welcomed this new award as a sign of our commitment to Health and Safety and of our desire to show leadership in the water industry. As far as we are aware, no other UK water company has achieved these three ISO standards for all operations.
